Paul Payton

Men’s Ministry Coordinator

A graduate of the University of MS School of Pharmacy, Paul began his career as a pharmacist.  After leaving the practice, he worked in sales, marketing and managed care with Merck, & Co. Inc. for nearly 27 years.

In retirement, Paul was motivated by Matthew 25:35 and Jesus’ words regarding “the least of these my brothers” and was led to a ministry that served homeless men in an urban shelter.

In 2015, Paul believed that ministry to men should also include those in prison. He subsequently joined the Life Abundant team in March that year and began to mentor men at the correctional facilities.  Paul was appointed to the Men’s Ministry Coordinator position in 2020.

“I am convinced that the only route to the healing, for many of these men, is a love relationship with God through Jesus.  I look forward to this opportunity to interview and identify inmates that seek such a relationship and are committed to the hard work of changing the direction of their lives”  Paul.

Paul, and his wife Nan, are active members of Doylestown United Methodist Church.
